Welcome to the landing page for the Trident-X Competition
This page will serve as the portal for all information and resources for the upcoming buildathons and competition.
Trident-X is a unmanned Unmanned Surface Vehicle (USV) competition run on the Marlin Robotics platform and organised by PolyMate with the support of the Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN) and Singapore Maritime Foundation (SMF).
Key Info for Buildathons
In order to get the best experience out of the buildathon, please ensure you read the following section carefully and pack/download everything you need. While we will do our best to make sure everyone is able to follow along, we have limited time and resources to assist you if you do not bring a device capable of running the software we are using for the workshop.
Attire
- Sleeved shirt (no singlets/tank tops)
- Long pants recommended
- No skirts
- Covered shoes
- Hoodie/sweater (optional)

- Buildathon 2: SUTD Block 57 MPH
What to bring
- Laptop and charger
- No chromebooks or tablets
- Mouse strongly recommended
- Stationery for note-taking (optional)
Frequently Asked Questions
SUTD Campus Centre is situated at the main entrace/drop-off point, opposite the library and between Building 2 and Building 3. There will be signs on the day of the buildathon pointing you towards the Campus Centre from the bus stop and Upper Changi MRT
The MPH is located in SUTD Hostel on level 2 of Block 57. Block 57 is accessible through Changi South Ave 1 by car, or from Campus Centre by public transportation.
SUTD is accessible from DT34 Upper Changi Exit E and Exit B.
The closest bus stops are:
- Upp Changi Stn/SUTD (Stop ID: 96049) and Upp Changi Stn/Opp SUTD (Stop ID: 96041), serviced by buses 2, 5, and 24
- SUTD (Stop ID: 96449) and Opp SUTD (Stop ID: 96441), serviced by bus 20
